Below you will find detailed information about what Cookies are, what type of Cookies this website uses, how you can disable them in your browser and how to specifically block the installation of third-party Cookies.

1.What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file that can be placed on your device that allows us to recognise and remember you. It is sent to your browser and stored on your computer’s hard drive or tablet or mobile device. When you visit our sites, we may collect information from you automatically through cookies or similar technology.

The use of Cookies allows you to optimize navigation, adapting the information and services offered to the interests of the user, to provide a better experience whenever you visit the website.

Additionally, depending on its purpose, Cookies can be classified as follows:

Performance: cookies which measure how often you visit our sites and how you use them. We use this information to get a better sense of how our users engage with our journalism and to improve our sites and apps, so that users have a better experience.
Advertising: cookies that are used to collect information about your visit to our site, the content you have viewed, the links you have followed and information about your browser, device and your IP address. There are two types:
Anonymous: they only collect information about the advertising spaces shown on the website, independently of the user who accesses the website, that is, without expressly identifying him.
Personalized: they collect personal information of the user of the website by a third party, for the personalization of said advertising spaces.
Geo-location: these Cookies are used to find out in which country or region the user is when they access a website service in order to offer content or services appropriate to their location.

Classification of cookies subject to information and consent, according to a report by the Spanish Data Protection Agency:

7.1. Types of cookies depending on the entity that manages them:

First-party cookies: These are those that are sent to the user's terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the publisher itself and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
Third-party cookies: These are those that are sent to the user's terminal equipment from a computer or domain that is not managed by the editor, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.

In the event that the cookies are installed from a computer or domain managed by the editor itself, but the information collected through them is managed by a third party, they cannot be considered as own cookies if the third party uses them for its own purposes.

The user can find out about transfers to third countries made by the third parties identified in this cookie policy by consulting their own cookie policies.

Please note that if you accept third-party cookies, you must delete them from your browser options or from the system offered by the third party itself.

7.2. Types of cookies according to the length of time they remain activated on the user's terminal:

Session cookies: These are a type of cookie designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a web page, to store information that is only of interest for the provision of the service requested by the user on a single occasion and disappear at the end of the session.
Persistent cookies: These are a type of cookie in which the data remains stored in the terminal and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the party responsible for the cookie, which can range from a few minutes to several years. For a cookie to be exempt from the duty of informed consent, its expiry must be related to its purpose.

7.3. Types of cookies according to their purpose:

Technical cookies: These are those that allow the user to browse through a website, platform or application and use the different options or services that exist therein, such as, for example, controlling traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted access areas, remembering the elements that make up an order, carrying out the purchase process of an order, make an application for registration or participation in an event, use security elements during browsing, store content for the broadcasting of videos or sound, share content through social networks or allow the management of advertising spaces that the editor has included on the website (without collecting user information for other purposes). These cookies are exempt from consent when they allow the service requested by the user to be provided. However, if these cookies are also used for non-exempt purposes (for example, for behavioural advertising purposes), they will be subject to the obligation of information and consent.
Preference or personalisation cookies: These cookies allow information to be remembered so that the user can access the service with certain predefined general characteristics based on a series of criteria in the user's terminal, such as the language, the type of browser used to access the service, the regional configuration from which the service is accessed, etc. If it is the user who chooses these characteristics (for example, if the user selects the language of a website by clicking on the flag icon of the corresponding country), the cookies will be exempt from consent as they are considered a service expressly requested by the user, provided that the cookies are exclusively for the purpose selected.
Analysis or measurement cookies: These cookies allow the party responsible for them to monitor and analyse the behaviour of the users of the websites to which they are linked. The information collected through this type of cookies is used to measure the activity of the websites, application or platform and for the elaboration of browsing profiles of the users of these sites, applications and platforms, in order to introduce improvements based on the analysis of the usage data of the users of the service. They are not exempt from the duty to obtain informed consent for their use, and, despite the low likelihood of them posing a risk to users' privacy as long as they are first-party cookies, it must be possible for users to object to their processing or to express their refusal.
Advertising or behavioural cookies: These cookies allow the most effective possible management of the advertising spaces that, where appropriate, the publisher has included on a website, application or platform from which the requested service is provided, based on criteria such as the edited content or the frequency at which the advertisements are shown. They store information on the behaviour of users obtained through the continuous observation of their browsing habits, allowing a specific profile of the user observed to display advertising based on that profile.
